Over the past eight years, Amplify Austin Day has raised $69 million for nonprofit organizations via its annual day for the Central Texas region to give back. For 24 hours spanning March 4-5, 2021, the Austin community will make donations to help a wide range of nonprofits, especially those that are in critical need. The goal of this day is to “build a more united, more equitable and more prosperous community for all when we give together.” Amplify Austin 2021 is our way of giving back.
At Launch, we believe in giving back to the community that is a foundation for who we are. As a part of our 2021 participation in Amplify Austin, we’ll be making a $5,000 matching donation to Breakthrough Central Texas. Breakthrough provides students who will become the first in their families to earn a college degree with necessary information and resources. They utilize extended learning, comprehensive advising and leadership experiences for these students that are all valuable in their college journey. We are inspired by the positive impacts they are making in our Austin community and beyond.
Launch will also make a $100 donation per employee to a local organization of their choosing. Read more below to see which organizations our team members chose and why.
Christa, Founder and CEO – Breakthrough Central Texas
“Helping the next generation learn, grow and achieve their goals is something I am passionate about. Breakthrough’s mission to provide a path through college for students from low-income communities that are the first to graduate from their families goes hand in hand with my passion. I am proud to be a supporter of this organization!”
Shawna, Executive Director Accounts and Operations – B.I.G. Love Cancer Care
“I am honored to donate to the B.I.G. Love Cancer for another year to support their efforts to ease the childhood cancer journey. The work that they do to provide the necessary care and resources to children with cancer and their families is remarkable.”
Jeff, Executive Director Client Engagements – Texas 4000
“Like so many others, cancer has severely impacted the lives of those I love. Texas 4000 is an inspiring organization that cultivates student leaders, engages communities, and raises funds to support research and initiatives that will move us closer to the goal of eradicating this pervasive group of diseases.”
John, Head of Business Development – Alzheimer’s Texas
“I choose to support Alzheimer’s Texas for their dedication to end Alzheimer’s through the support of research and the enhancement of care services for individuals, their families and caregivers.”
Catherine, Senior Account Manager – Drive a Senior Austin, TX
“I remember when my father couldn’t drive anymore and the loss of independence he felt. It was a major turning point in his perspective on his own aging. He, fortunately, had a large family to get him where he needed to be. I want to support Drive a Senior Austin, TX because I know it is not only a practical lifeline but also an emotional one for many seniors.”
Tiffany, Account Manager – Austin Voices for Youth and Education
“I want to donate to Austin Voices for Education and Youth because I believe that children are our future, and they all deserve equal access to education and resources. Any organization that supports our youth and their education, is an organization fighting a great cause!”
Roxanne, Programs Manager – All Things Wild Rehabilitation
“I’m a huge advocate for wildlife and they do not have a voice so it’s important for “us” to speak for them and keep them safe. With recent weather conditions in Texas, All Things Wild Rehabilitation’s amazing volunteers braved the ice and took care of the animals. This shows me how much good this organization is doing to ensure these helpless animals are taken care of.”
Mary, Marketing Specialist – BuildSoccer
“As a former soccer player, I know that soccer is more than just a sport—it can change lives. BuildSoccer is giving South Austin families, kids and special needs adults the opportunity to participate in the sport, build a better community and partake in something life-changing.”
