SEO: This acronym stands for search engine optimization. According to Moz, SEO is the practice of improving and promoting a website in order to increase the number of visitors the site receives from search engines. An important key to SEO is making sure your site is structured in a way that search engines understand.
Content Marketing/Strategy: The practice of creating informational and creative material that is relevant and interesting to potential customers (through social media, blogs, etc.).
Social Media Marketing: The promotion of products, services, or content using a collaborative form of Internet social media
Influencer Marketing: According to Moz, this is the process of developing relationships with influential people that can lead to their assistance in creating visibility for products or services. They can write a blog post or article about you, share information about you in social media accounts, or ask/permit you to guest post on their site.
ROI: This acronym traditionally stands for return on investment, but for inbound marketing, it makes more sense to think of return on impressions. ROI helps in determining the effectiveness of marketing efforts (The higher the better!).
According to Forbes, there are 2 metrics marketers should use to determine return on impressions:
1. Eyes ( number of people actually seeing)
2. Perceptions (consumer perceptions of brand)
Copywriting: This is the process of creating written content designed to get the reader to take a specific action. Thoughtful use of copywriting on your blog will get readers to subscribe to your content, opt in for to your email newsletter, and share your content with other readers.
