Amplify Austin Day is the biggest day of giving in Central Texas and over the past 10 years has raised over $82 million for nonprofit organizations in the region. This year, Amplify Austin Day will start on March 1st at 6pm and run through March 2nd at 6pm. During this single 24-hour period, the Austin community will donate to support more than 700 nonprofits. This is I Live Here I Give Here’s, the group behind Amplify Austin Day, signature event. With the 10th anniversary of Amplify Austin upon us, the community is excited to donate and make a difference.
At Launch, we believe giving back to the Austin community is such a large part of who we are as an organization. We are so lucky to be a part of a diverse, thriving and wonderful community and we are going to do our share in continuing that. As part of our 2023 participation in Amplify Austin, we will be making a $5,000 matching donation to Breakthrough Central Texas. Breakthrough CTX builds a path to college for first-generation college students using extended learning, comprehensive advising and leadership experiences. These activities are all valuable in their journey to and through college journey and we are inspired by the positive impacts they are making in our Austin community and beyond.
Launch will also make a $100 donation per employee to a local nonprofit of their choosing. Read more below to see which organizations our team members chose and why.
Christa, Founder and CEO – Breakthrough Central Texas
“Breakthrough Central Texas creates a path to and through college for students who will be the first in their families to graduate from college. Their mission is truly inspiring and aligns with one of my passions, helping the next generation learn, grow and achieve their goals. I am so proud to be a longtime supporter of their organization!”
Shawna, Executive Director Accounts and Operations – B.I.G. Love Cancer Care
“This year I am once again donating to B.I.G. Love Cancer. I admire this organization’s work of making the lives of children with cancer and their families easier through their free programs and resources. Their story and mission are truly inspiring.”
John, Head of Business Development – National Wildlife Federation
“I choose to support National Wildlife Federation – Texas. Their efforts go towards land, water and wildlife conservation in Central Texas which means Texans will continue to be connected to all of these.”
Rio, Senior Account Manager – American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Central Texas
“Suicide prevention is a crisis that we rarely talk about publicly. There’s a stigma surrounding mental health, although it is something that we ALL struggle with at some point in our lives. In fact, many of us have lost a friend or loved one to suicide. I want to do everything that I can to uplift others and show them that there is hope, love, and light within the darkness they may be experiencing. I everyone to know that there’s no shame in experiencing mental health challenges, and I want every person to feel supported with a variety of resources that can help them navigate through these challenges. This is a small way in which I can work toward that mission.”
Frida, Account Manager – Equine Rehabilitation Central Texas
“Equine therapy is a privilege not everyone gets to experience and this year I’d like to donate the Equine Rehabilitation Central Texas to help provide support for their program and students. Horses can help both children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges improve independence and functional life skills no matter if it’s just interacting with a horse or taking riding lessons. I think everyone deserves an opportunity to experience the healing powers of animals.”
Mary, Junior Marketing Associate – BookSpring
“Books are so important to a child’s development, but some families have limited access to them. BookSpring is helping change that by providing underserved communities with books ranging in a variety of topics to help their development and skill-building. I am excited to support their mission as they continue to bring the joy of reading to all.”
